S. Roop Singh (b. 20.4.1963), after completing his Master degrees in Punjabi and Religious Studies, edited the monthly organ of SGPC Gurmat Prakash for nine years. By virtue of his deep-delving diligence, arduous commitment and crystal-clear thinking, he could ascertain his acumen by popularising this religious organ among the Sikh world. Now he is serving as Secretary of SGPC.
Having acquired his academic proficiency from the Gurmat College, Patiala, this renowned scholar, could experience deep understanding of Gurmat ideology in the company of highly-learned Sikh Intellectuals. Evidently, he exhibits absolutely clear and concrete understanding of every point of the Guru-axioms, but feels remorse about the ones spreading flimsy interpretations.
Language Department, Punjab has honoured him with the Shiromani Gurmat Sahitkar 2009 Award. Honoured and acclaimed by many more eminent panthic bodies, S. Roop Singh is fully engrossed in scholastic studies of research in Sikh Religion and History. Having published Edicts of Sri Akal Takhat Sahib and Eminent Sikh Personalities along with many more research-based illustrious works, he has carved a niche for himself in the world of clear sighted dedicated Sikh intellectuals.
